NIÑOS SOMOS TODOS
90 min | ESP
Paco Contreras, El Niño de Elche, embarks on a journey to Bolivia in search of new sounds in the most isolated country in America. There, he finds his own truth.
Headlining at Sónar and a diverse singer, a star of experimental rock and singer-songwriter, El Niño de Elche is an artist who defies classification. On this journey, we will get to know a unique artist through encounters and social realities that make him reconsider his own life, his learning of music, or his relationship with his family. Along the way, the traveler encounters unique characters and diverse realities; in some, music maintains its tradition; in others, it is simply prohibited. El Niño searches in the everyday sounds of the activities that structure the same communities he respectfully visits.
A swimming pool in the Bolivian Amazon, a mining community, a settlement of Mennonites (of Amish origin), or the chroma key studio of an eccentric YouTuber are some of the settings that allow the protagonist to relate what he sees and hears to his own life, prompting reflections on love as a random succession of flashes. On the importance of approaching the unknown without prejudice. On the need to become aware of the sounds that surround us. On how strict norms generate anxiety and violence. On how any orthodoxy fosters the need to dismantle dogmas.
